Frank Erwin Events Center Event Tickets - Entertainment Comes To Austin
Everything may be bigger in Texas, but Austin sets itself apart from even the other famous cities in the Lone Star State. Along with being the home venue for the University of Texas men's and women's basketball teams, the Frank Erwin Events Center also hosts the biggest names in entertainment from John Mayer to Taylor Swift. The Frank Erwin Events Center has been a mecca for entertainment since it first opened in 1977. It cost $34 million to construct and the one-of-a-kind design was worth every penny. Another $55 million were spent from 2001 to 2003, updating and renovating the space.

The star power stays strong at the Frank Erwin Events Center on April 10th, when iconic singer/songwriter Elton John takes the stage. Elton John is one of the living legends in the music scene, and instead of resting on his laurels, he has continued to perform around the world. After years as a songwriter, John decided to break out on his own at the end of the 1960s. Since then, he has pumped out hit after hit like "Your Song," "Tiny Dancer," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Bennie and the Jets," "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" and "Candle in the Wind."
Over the last two decades, Elton John has embarked on successful dates with another legend: Billy Joel. With or without Joel, he knows how to impress on stage, which will surely happen when he is at the Frank Erwin Events Center.
The Frank Erwin Events Center isn't the only place for music, and on April 14, the Paramount Theater will prove that point by hosting a concert by Pat Metheny. Metheny is a legendary and respected jazz guitarist who has never been afraid to push the limits. He has released many genre-bending albums over the years with his Pat Metheny Group as well as solo recordings and other collaborations. His latest release is Orchestrion, which was released in early 2010.
Fans of Adam Young are going to want to make sure their taxes are done early, as Young is bringing his project Owl City to the Stubbs Restaurant in Austin on Tax Day, April 15. The name of the project comes from the insomnia that drove Young to create music. He started putting his creations online, earning himself a loyal following. His 2009 album, Ocean Eyes, has earned him a spot on the charts and critical success thanks to singles like "Fireflies" and "Vanilla Twilight." He has since become a favorite live performer for his growing fan base.
