Melvin Wright appointed to NBTA Advisory Committee
Melvin Wright, partner in the Florida personal injury law firm of Colling, Gilbert, Wright & Carter has been appointed to the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) Advisory Committee by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification (NBLSC). The NBTA is a nonprofit group that helps to aid clients in choosing experienced legal representation and works to improve the quality of trial advocacy. The NBLSC provides board certification for lawyers and is accredited by the American Bar Association. NBLSC certifies trial lawyers and trial attorneys, criminal lawyers and attorneys, family lawyers and attorneys, and social security disability lawyers.
Becoming board certified is a rigorous testing process that shows the attorney has the education and courtroom experience to become one of the leaders in their chosen practice. For Mr. Wright, this focus is on the different aspects of personal injury, specifically serious personal injury and wrongful death. He was recently chosen as one of Florida’s “Legal Elite” by Florida Trend magazine. This distinction is bestowed upon those deemed exceptionally qualified by their peers. He has been board certified by the Florida Bar since 1996 as a civil trial specialist. This is the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar.
Mr. Wright’s invitation to become a member of the NBTA Advisory Committee is due to his tireless pursuit and excellence in his particular areas of practice. He has been involved, and won, multiple cases with high monetary awards. He has appealed cases which have gone before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit as well as to the Supreme Court of Florida. Through 24 years of the practice of law, Mr. Wright has earned his position on the NBTA Advisory Committee.
