MLB: Dodgers Win Last Game Without Manny Ramirez

The LA Dodgers proved that they are a really good team even without Manny Ramirez since on Wednesday they played the last game without him against the Colorado Rockies and won it 1-0. The Dodgers had a record of 29-21 while Ramirez was suspended, which is not as bad as they thought it would be. Ramirez will be coming back with the Dodgers on Friday, so his time with the minors is over, after playing only five rehab games with the Inland Empire Sixers of the Minor League. The manager of the Dodgers Joe Torre confirmed that the assignment of Ramirez in the minors was over on Monday after he played his last game; during these last five games he recorded three hits in 10 at-bats and hit one home run. Manny Ramirez comeback will be on Friday’s game against San Diego and everybody in the team is very excited about it because they know they will have having someone else that can help them out to win the difficult matches that they are going to have. Ramirez was suspended since May 7th for 50 games after testing positive on a doping test that was practiced to him; Ramirez didn’t denied the accusation and accepted his suspension. The Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti stated that he was very pleased on having Manny back with the team and expects everything to go back to normal in the team now. He also expressed that he doesn’t expect to have Manny playing the way he was doing it before he was suspended because he knows that he may need a little practice, but he is always welcome to the team. "It's not until you lose somebody like Manny that you realize that there's no safety net out there," Dodgers manager Joe Torre said. "I continue to talk about how fortunate we've been with the number of close games we've won." Torre also thinks that the comeback is not going to be easy for Ramirez who’s only practice has been the five rehab games with a minor league team. He expressed that he has no doubt on how talented he is and that he knows this will help everybody in the team to improve; but he also thinks that it will take some time to for the player feel confident with his game and to get to his normal rhythm again. The player that was taking Ramirez place while he was suspended was Juan Pierre, who did an excellent job hitting .318 with 21 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 15 walks and 21 stolen bases while he played as a full time player. He will now go back to be a part time player despite he gave the team a good level of competition they were 21-8 right after Ramirez was suspended. Although Ramirez left a big hole on the team when he got suspended, the team worked very hard to accomplish what they did while he was not playing. We hope that everything goes better for them and that Ramirez comes back showing all of that talent that he naturally has.
