As a former star still stuck in his old personae and ways, Kenny Powers has trouble adjusting to a life being broke and underappreciated. However, he still holds onto his dream of a glory comeback.
Eastbound and Down is the latest project to come out of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's comedy factory called Gary Sanchez Productions, and the creators of Funnyordie.com. The protagonist Danny McBride is accompanied by actors Katy Mixon and John Hawkes and has guest appearances by other great comedians including Will Ferrell who plays a local car dealer with straight long blond hair. McBride teamed up with a couple friends from film school including Jody Hill and Ben Best to shoot the entire series in North Carolina.
Eastbound and Down has been signed on to a second season in which the daily in a life of a burnt out baseball pitcher is sure to continue as Kenny Powers looks towards his love interest and continues to teach every now and then at high school. Whatever the plot or storyline it is sure to be filled with more great comedic cameos, and a mix of crude and slapstick comedy. In fact the comedic presence of McBride with his curly super mullet makes for laughter without even having to speak a word.
So don't wait before you get set up with satellite television and the 200 plus channels of available programming.
