For young and old alike, San Diego hosts some of the most amazing attractions and activities in all of California. The world renowned San Diego Zoo is the birthplace of the first Panda in captivity, while the La Jolla Shores Cove is one of the most beautiful destinations in all of Southern California. Here is a list of eight attractions you don't want to miss.
1. Sea World offers eight different rides and five or more shows to choose from in addition to the various exhibits and tours to insure an unforgettable aquatic adventure.
2. The San Diego Zoo boasts over 400 different species of Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, and Insects. For education as well as entertainment, the zoo is a trip you really must experience.
3. The San Diego Wild Animal Park takes you on a trip through various habitats and offers exhibits ranging from a caravan safari to a rainforest aviary.
4. The Birch Aquarium at Scripps is a small aquarium overlooking the La Jolla shore. Be sure to head out back to enjoy the view, as well as get a chance to touch a starfish or sea cucumber.
5. Balboa Park Museums: Balboa Park is located just north of downtown San Diego, come visit one of the many museums such as the Museum of Man, Air and Space Museum, or the Japanese Friendship Garden.
6. La Jolla Cove: one of the most picturesque destinations on the west coast, the La Jolla Shores Cove is a popular snorkeling and scuba diving location, as well as a family friendly spot complete with a park and picnic tables.
7. Coronado is home of the famous Hotel Del Coronado, which is a lovely resort located on the beautiful Imperial Beach. Don't forget to wander around the small town for a bite to eat.
8. The Historic Gaslamp District is located in the heart of downtown. With over a dozen restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops, it reaches to the south harbor and marina, just between the convention center and Petco Park.
