Penn State Nittany

Penn State's Mascot Gets Drunk
Ok, so it's a big deal that Penn State is back in the Rose Bowl after not appearing in the game since 1995, and of course that's why Penn State fans are rushing out to buy Rose Bowl tickets in droves.
But of course it's not all...roses. Turns out that some of the people in JoePa's sports empire are already losing focus, and when teams lose focus, that means they usually just....lose.
The Penn State Nittany Lion, specifically, the mascot that roams the sidelines during all Penn State football games, was busted for a DUI in the wee hours of the morning and now is listed as 'doubtful' for the trip to the Rose Bowl. That cat might sure know how to party, but I can't help but wonder if he got busted while wearing the suit, because, well, until he got arrested, it was probably a legendary party night if that was the case.
Teams work all year to get to the buig game and no one can afford to take their eye off the ball, even if that eye is a big fake plastic eye sewn into fake fur head by someone in China. No, everyone has to play a part and keep it together.
I know that if Penn State doesn't come out strong in the Rose Bowl, a lot of Penn State fans with Rose Bowl tickets might start blaming the Nittany Lion first for creating such a T.O. like diversion. I can only imagine the numurous times the commentators will rehash what happened while trying to dance around the delicate issue. But the real question is, if the Nittany Lion had turned pro last season, who his antics be more accepted. Maybe he's just moved on too fast for the college game. Maybe the Carolina Panthers or Cinncinnati Bengals could use another big cat at the games. Or maybe the Detroit Lions need a flamboyant feline to divert attention away from their team's inabality to win a game.
Maybe soon we'll see a press conference where the Nittany Lion says "bring the popcorn".
