A defeat means one Dallas win or one Giants’ loss in the final two weeks could lock them out of the playoffs. It’s quite a comedown from their last game when they went into the Philadelphia game knowing a win would give them control of the NFC East. Now they need a win just to stay on life-support.
Redskins
Playing spoiler and putting themselves in position for next season are about the only things at stake for the Washington players. It’s pretty much assured coach Jim Zorn won’t be back, so they won’t be playing for his job. With new GM Bruce Allen already in place, the players need to present themselves in a good light for the first part of the new regime. They also know their new coach, whether he be Mike Shanahan or someone else, will use this prime-time game as a gauge on which players he can count on in prime-time situations.
