Tim Mcgraw Tickets - Tim Mcgraw Added To 2010 Cma Music Fest Lineup

Along with Alan Jackson, Billy Currington and Kellie Pickler, Tim McGraw is among the batch of country stars added to the lineup for the 2010 CMA Music Festival, to be held in the country music capital of Nashville June 10-13, reported Great American Country. McGraw & Co. join previously announced acts Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band and Brad Paisley, who will all take the stage during the Nightly Concerts at LP Field.

Tim McGraw hasn't performed at the CMA Music Fest since 2001, when he made a surprise appearance during Kenny Chesney's gig (when the event still went by its former name, Fan Fair). McGraw has participated in the event eight times since making his Fan Fair debut back in 1993, and it should come as no surprise that he is such a big supporter of the Country Music Association, as McGraw has no less than 11 CMA Awards sitting in his trophy case. McGraw was hailed Entertainer of the Year in 2001 and Male Vocalist in 1999 and 2000; he won Album of the Year in 1998 (A Place in the Sun) and 1999 (Everywhere) and Musical Event of the Year in 2007 ("Find out Who Your Friends Are" with Tracy Lawrence and Kenny Chesney).

The CMA Music Festival began as Fan Fair back in 1972 (that means it's in its 39th year for those who didn't do the math) as a way to honor the relationship between country artists and their fans. During the festival's decades, over 2,000 country artists have participated in the not-for-profit event, in which artists perform for free and the CMA donates half the net proceeds of the CMA Music Festival to support music education in Metro Nashville Public School through the Keep the Music Playing program. $3.3 million has been donated thus far, with the funds purchasing musical instruments and supplies and offering thousands of students enrolled in the Metro Nashville Public Schools opportunities and resources they might not have had otherwise.

Tim McGraw's stop at the CMA Music Festival will come in the middle of his tour dates with Lady Antebellum. McGraw and Lady A will be weaving their way throughout North America—stopping in cities like New Orleans, La.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Detroit, Mich.; Tampa, Fla.; North Charleston, S.C.; Spokane, Wash.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Chula Vista, Calif.; Dallas, Texas; Milwaukee, Wis.; Camden, N.J.; West Valley, Utah; Englewood, Colo. and more—through early August. Although McGraw is busy touring and filming his next movie, Dirty Girl, which will also star William H. Macy, The Boot reports that he is hinting about releasing a duet album with wife Faith Hill in the near future. Fans of the country music couple have been asking for a duets album for years, and McGraw recently told the Vancouver Sun that the album will be coming in "just a matter of time."

McGraw added, "You know, [it's] labels and all these things. Once we clear the woods a little bit, we'll [record an album] for sure." Once they do, Tim and Faith will join the ranks of other country couples who have recorded duet albums, like Johnny Cash and June Carter and George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
