Jones Beach Wantagh
How do you get to Wantagh, NY from Manhattan?
I live in Connecticut and I know how to get to an around New York City but I want to go to a concert at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater and it's in Wantagh, NY. Does anyone know how to get there and get back? And do the trains stop running there at a certain time?
Rather than, N87 bus, N88 bus from Freeport will be best.
Step 1: As get off your Metro-North at Grand Central, follow direction to any subway entrance.
Step 2: Buy choicing regular MetroCard, other amounts, fare on subway and buses are now $2.25, so you should put $9.00 in your card.
Step 3: Take 42nd St (S)huttle train to Times Sq.
Step 4: Take downtown (1) local or (2)(3) express one stop to 34th St-Penn Station.
Step 5: From Long Island Railroad ticket vending machine, off-peak roundtrip $15.50, then wait for Babylon Branch and take that to Freeport Station.
Step 6: Then use stairs at east end of platform, there will be sign that indicate N88 Jones Beach. N88 bus is operated by MTA Long Island Bus. You could use same MetroCard you use on subway. Fare is same as subway and NYC Bus.
When theater is open, N88 bus will serve Parking Lot #5 which is Jones Beach theater.
Just in case, get to bus stop ten minutes earlier because last N88 leaves 10:45pm at West Bathhouse, 10:47pm at Central Mall: 10:49pm at East Bathhouse.
