Reba Mcentire Tickets - Reba Mcentire In The Running For Acm's Top Female Vocalist Of The Year
Country stars Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton appeared on CBS' The Early Show to announce the nominees for the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on March 2. Although Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift racked up the most nods with seven and five nominations, respectively, Reba is in the running for one of the most coveted honors of the year: Top Female Vocalist of the Year. McEntire will face off against Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Lee Ann Womack in the category.
The 45th ACM Awards will be held at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 18 and will be broadcast live on CBS, with Reba McEntire hosting the country music event this year. After announcing this year's batch of nominees, McEntire chatted with Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez about hosting the show for the 12th time. When asked how she manages to re-vamp her hosting job for each show, she told Rodriguez, "It always comes down to the writing. It's like the songs are down to the writing. So that good writing comes in handy, very important. And I'll get out there and deliver the goods."
Reba McEntire has been nominated in the Female Vocalist of the Year category at the ACM Awards a whopping 12 times over the span of her timeless career. In her interview with Rodriguez, McEntire said she is just honored to be nominated for an ACM Award this year —how's that for humble? "It's a great thing," she also said. "You get your name out in front of millions of people such as today as we're announcing the names. It's great publicity. People will be watching the night of the awards show while we're in Las Vegas, having a wonderful time. It's going to be a big night for country music, a big party."
Along with her ACM Awards nomination, Reba is likely still celebrating the fact that her latest single, "Consider Me Gone," has become the biggest hit of her entire career! The track (her 34th No. 1 single) climbed the rungs of the country singles charts in January and remained there for over four weeks. The Boot reports that Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Gretchen Wilson are the only other female country stars to have a single stay at the No. 1 spot for longer than three weeks in the past decade. Along with songwriters Steve Diamond and Marv Green, who penned "Consider Me Gone," McEntire celebrated the career achievement with a party in Nashville on Jan. 26.
"Consider Me Gone" is the lead single off Reba McEntire's most recent album, Keep On Lovin' You. Reba's first major solo album in six years, Keep On Lovin' You arrived in August 2009 via Valroy Music. Proving she is well worth the wait, Reba is currently on tour with fellow country music heavyweights Lee Ann Womack and George Strait.
