Dallas Cowboys Tickets- Cowboys Lose One Jones, Add Back Another
There has been good news and bad news coming for the Dallas Cowboys as of late. During week 11, they added back quarterback Tony Romo. Soon after, they got the news that suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones would be reinstated for the NFL and able to play for the Cowboys for the final games of the season. It can't all be rosy for the Cowboys, however, and that was proven when the Cowboys had to put rookie Felix Jones on injured reserve. After a stellar start, the Cowboys have had a rough middle of the season and are currently trying to turn their 6-4 record into a playoff berth. With top players back, that might just be a possibility.
Pacman Jones was placed on suspension after an alcohol-fueled scuffle between Jones and his assigned body guard at a hotel in Dallas on October 7. Someone on the hotel staff phoned police but no arrests were made. The reason that the NFL was so quick to suspend Jones even without an arrest is Jones's past exploits with the law. Jones actually had to sit out the entire 2007 season because of multiple offenses while he was with the Tennessee Titans. Since he entered the league with the Titans in 2005, he was involved in 12 different situations requiring police and arrested six times. With the Dallas hotel incident, Jones made his police related incidents a full baker's dozen. The Cowboys are known for extending new opportunities to wayward players and are planning to bring Jones back into the fold, this time without any bodyguards. Jones will be on his own for keeping himself out of trouble from now on at Dallas.
Although his situation hasn't been all that similar to Pacman Jones, running back Felix Jones has been the subject of speculation for weeks. The Cowboys picked up Felix Jones from Arkansas in the first round of the 2008 draft as the 22nd overall pick. Although he wasn't a starter at the beginning of the season, Jones has still contributed. In the opening game against the Cleveland Browns, he tallied one touchdown and 62 yards on nine carries. The best game of his short career this season was against the Cincinnati Bengals during week five when he had 9 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown. Since then, though, Jones has been about as injury prone as a rookie can be. He sat out game seven on because of a hamstring injury. During rehabilitation for that injury, he tore a ligament in his big toe, which is what had him placed on injured reserve. The toe injury will take six months to heal.
The Cowboys are in good shape to start gaining some momentum for the rest of the season. Even without Felix Jones, the Cowboys have Marion Barber, Tashard Choice and Alonzo Coleman. They will be facing off against some tough opponents, however, like the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens on their way to the end of the regular season.
