John Mayer Tickets - John Mayer Recruits Avett Brothers, Train And Owl City For Summer Tour
John Mayer is currently on the road with Spearhead supporting his latest album Battle Studies, and Paste magazine reported that the rocker has recruited the Avett Brothers, Train and Owl City to join him for the next leg of his tour. Spearhead will remain on the road with Mayer until mid-April, stopping in cities like Fargo, N.D. and Chicago, Ill., after which point the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" singer will cross the pond to perform in the U.K. and in European cities like Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Madrid.
John Mayer's 2010 North American Summer Tour will launch from Charlotte, N.C. on July 16 and the two-month trek will see him performing in amphitheaters scattered across the States and Canada through early September. On tour supporting their latest album Save Me, San Francisco, Train will likely perform their recent hit single "Hey, Soul Sister" when they open for John Mayer in cities like Virginia Beach, Va.; Wantagh, N.Y.; Scranton, Pa.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Clarkston, Mich. and more.
Grammy Award-winning pop-rock band Train will perform their last date with John Mayer on July 31 in Camden, N.J., at which point the Avett Brothers will begin their stint supporting Mayer. Hailing from North Carolina, the rising folk rock act released their major label debut, I and Love and You, via the Columbia imprint American Recordings last year. I and Love and You is the Avett Brothers' 13th album and the band will take the stage to perform songs off the record before John Mayer in cities like Bristow, Va.; Homdel, N.J.; Mansfield, Mass.; Saratoga, N.Y.; Toronto, Ontario and Noblesville, Ind. in August.
Owl City, aka Adam Young, has been garnering rave reviews for his debut album Ocean Eyes, and the Minnesota native will perform tracks like "Hello Seattle" when on tour with John Mayer. Before Mayer takes the stage to perform tracks off Battle Studies, Owl City will open for him in cities like Phoenix, Ariz.; Mountain View, Calif.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Irvine, Calif. and Morrison, Colo. through early September. Between Spearhead, the Avett Brothers, Train and Owl City, fans with John Mayer tickets will be treated to quite a show this spring and summer!
John Mayer released his fourth album Battle Studies last fall and debuted the record with an intimate gig at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York City in November. The folk-pop single "Who Says" instantly landed on the radio, and Mayer's duet with Taylor Swift titled "Half of My Heart" also found ample listeners. Though Mayer is known for his celebrity romances (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston are among his exes) and gaffs made via Twitter and MySpace, Rolling Stone praised Battle Studies upon its release, saying, "Turns out, loose, louche, funny Mayer isn't just good for publicity. It's good for art."
John Mayer's guitar-laced tunes first landed on the radio in the early 2000s thanks to "Your Body Is a Wonderland" (rumored to be written about Love Hewitt), and the Berklee College of Music alum has since proven himself to be no one-hit wonder. The Grammy-winning artist will likely perform songs off older albums like Room for Squares, Any Given Sunday and Continuum as well as Battle Studies on tour, so get your John Mayer tickets from StubHub.com.
