American Idol Episode Review – Season 9 Episode 12 - 2.17.10
With 17 spots left and 37 contestants remaining, the majority of American Idol contestants were sent home with a broken heart. The first to make the long hard walk down to the judgment seat was Janelle Wheeler. Janelle was shaky about her chances after a few subpar performances, but Ellen gave her the good news that she was moving forward. The second to take the long walk was the 70’s rocker Tyler from Boston. Kara told him he had the right moves and sent him on to the top 24.
The third to make it through was Lacy Brown, who had made it to the top 50 last year before being sent home. Next up was Crystal Bowersox. Crystal made it through, but I just couldn’t get over the fact of how gnarly and yellow her teeth are. Her teeth look like the before photo on those teeth whitening internet ads. Throw that woman a tooth brush please!
Angela Martin, who in seasons past had lost her father and went to jail for unpaid traffic tickets, was hoping that the third time would be a charm. Even before she sat down in the chair she broke down with emotion. Kara came over and sat with her and gave her the bad news that she didn’t make it. The final girl to make it was Black Country singer Hailey Vaughn.
With only one open spot for the males left, Thaddeus Young was the final cut. Thaddeus did not receive the news well and for some reason went straight to the bathroom stall to find solace. The final guy to make it was my personal pick, Andrew Garcia. This year’s American Idol looks to be a close competition as every contestant is a great singer, but none stand out above the rest. Don’t miss the ladies performing live next week.
