Tegan And Sara Tickets - Tegan And Sara Celebrate Lilith Fair Anniversary

Female-powered groups like Tegan and Sara got their big breaks performing at Lilith Fair, and the sister act is happy that the traveling musical festival is back after a 10-year hiatus. "The year we started playing music professionally was the year Lilith Fair ended (1999)," Tegan recalled to Billboard.com before adding, "We did a Lilith Fair date that year on the Village Stage, the local promoter's stage. So for 10 years we've been answering questions about playing Lilith Fair and we really … didn't. So we can't wait. I think Lilith Fair is a one of a kind festival, and it's been missed the last 10 years-at least by artists like us."

After Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan announced plans to dust off the festival in 2010, months of speculation followed, but Pollstar.com unveiled the dates, cities and venues for the festival on March 16. Along with Tegan and Sara, artists announced as appearing on one or more Lilith Fair dates include Sugarland, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Colbie Caillat, Corinne Bailey Rae, Indigo Girls, Mary J. Blige, Emmylou Harris, Beth Orton, Erykah Badu, Heart and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Lilith Fair will stop in cities like Quincy, Wash. (at the Gorge Amphitheatre); Chicago, Ill. (at the First Midwest Bank amphitheatre in Tinley Park); Atlanta, Ga. (at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood) and more throughout the summer.

Tegan and Sara's Lilith Fair gig follows the duo's current tour, which is in support of their latest album, Sainthood. The pair of sisters will be stopping in cities like Detroit, Mich.; Cleveland, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn.; Kansas City, Mo.; Salt Lake City, Utah and more through May before traveling Down Under for a batch of dates in Australia. If you miss Tegan and Sara this spring don't stress, because they have additional dates lined up through summer and fall! Tegan and Sara's upcoming tour dates are part of the 2010 Honda Tour and see the siblings on the road with Paramore. On their official website Tegan and Sara write: "We first heard Paramore a few years ago and have been HUGE fans ever since. Their new record Brand New Eyes is one of our favorite releases of the year and we're already practicing our dance moves in preparation for the tour." Tegan and Sara's stint on the 2010 Honda Civic Tour begins with a July 23 date in Raleigh, N.C. From there, they will stop in 30 cities scattered across North America (including their pair of Lilith Fair dates, which have yet to be revealed).

Tegan and Sara Quin, 29-year-old twins, recorded Sainthood with Howard Redekopp and Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla, taking a different approach than their usual method of recording. With previous albums, the sisters would write songs individually and come together to collaborate later, but this time around Tegan and Sara wrote the songs for Sainthood together while on a trip to New Orleans. The sisters' writing wasn't confined to songs, however, as they released three books titled On, In and At around the time their latest album dropped.
